On Saturday, on September 8 it will be a great event that the President of the European Combat Sambo Federation Elkhan Veliyev retold on Friday at the special press-conference held in the representative office of RAMI RIA News in the Republic of Moldova and IA News-Moldova. It goes about Continent Competitions in Combat Sambo to be held in Kishinev.
Organizers of the Competitions are European Combat Sambo Federation, supported by the Combat Sambo Federation of Moldova and also the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Center of Science and Culture in the Republic of Moldova.
“We can say it is happiness, luck, whatever, but we are well-prepared and we will be glad if our fighters and others show the best results. No wonder, we will worry about the representatives of Moldova most”, - the President of Combat Sambo Federation of Moldova Vasiliy Bachu stated.
He also told that “a main aim of the tournament is to popularize Combat Sambo as the universal system of martial arts and propagandize the healthy way of life.”
Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Moldova Oktavian Bodishtyanu, in his turn, underlined that he is glad that we can not only hold the competitions of such level, but we have also those who can present the country on the highest level.” He assured that this preparation is the work of trainers in general.
Continental Competitions are held in the Republic Light Athletics Manege at 9.00. 115 sportsmen from the combined teams of Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, Spain, Georgia, Hungary, Israel, Portugal, Greece and Poland take part in them.
The organizers of the tournament informed that main fights of the European Championship start at 15.00. There will be known the names of winners and prize winners in the Competitions of Old World in Combat Sambo as the result of them. The solemn closing starts at 18.00. Then the sportsmen will be given the medals.
The special guest of the tournament will become two-time World Champion in Combat Sambo, at the present moment professional UFC fighter Russian man Habib Nurmagomedov. The President of European Federation in Combat Sambo Elkhan Veliyev told that Khabib Nurmagomedov arrived to the European Championship to support his colleagues.
The sportsman who is only 24 years old now, informed that two persons in his care participate in these competitions. They take part in the weight category to 57 kg and 62 kg.
“I wish all sportsmen good luck. If I notice perspective guys, I will recommend them in the professional league”, - Nurmagomedov informed.
The European Championship in Combat Sambo performs in seven weight and two age categories. Fights are performed on two tatamis, made in Moldova. The finalists win for the title of the Champion and both losers in the half-final fights are given the bronze prizes.
